About the Author

I am a graduate student living in New Haven, studying...Applied Physics! Right. By day I am usually in the basement doing crystal growth or in the cleanroom doing device fabrication, and nothing is more relaxing than coming to the lovely apartment, and cook a nice dinner. In my spare time, I enjoy  board games, travel, yoga, casual jogging, reading and COOKING. Oh, we like to have friends over, A LOT. We host the very nerdy Dungeons & Dragons every other week, as well as Game of Thrones viewing party every Sunday night.

About the Blog

The reason I started this blog was covered in this original post in late August, 2013. Now this site has become more or less a journal of recipes for two, who both takes leftovers for lunch the next day. I tried to include some nutrition/cost analysis whenever I can, but since D and I are currently on different weight goals I have become more laid back with nutrition. There is nothing much I can do about cost as we moved to downtown and can only reliably attend our local co-op, with the addition of our farmer's market.

About the Food

Most of the recipes are quite simple, with little attention need, and can be prepped ahead. I would often assemble something in a baking dish and leave it in the fridge with instructions before work, so that D and turn on the oven and do the cooking on the long-lab-days.

Most recipes use natural and whole foods, and the goal is always to let the ingredients shine. The style of cooking is quite relaxed. I tend to go on a whim when it comes to recipes. Many good dishes are recorded here with certain exceptions that I could not repeat...sadly.

Cuisines from all of the world are welcome, especially the ones with interesting textures. (The only official cooking lessons I took was in France, and all other tricks were picked up along the way when I stayed in multiple cities in Asia, Europe and America. )

About the Pictures

I took some photography lessons but have not saved enough to get a nice camera yet. Most pictures on this site were shot with my  humble phone and (some are) processed with Lightroom

I enjoy blogging and often wonder who stops by -- so please leave me a message whenever you can (and feel free to shoot me an email)!

I hope you find this blog enjoyable. Cheers!
